Tell us about yourself and your business: Donna Johnson of DMJ Consulting, is experienced as a business services provider to small business, non-profit, professional and corporate clients. I provide assistance by educating my clients and assisting them with planning, implementing, monitoring and managing their marketing and other business systems.

Professional Business and Marketing Services Include: marketing system consultation, business start-up/over planning consultation, business identity re/design consultation, virtual assistance consultation and more…

What inspired you to start a business? In 1996, I became the member of the business network at my church because a friend of mine encouraged me to get involved. I realized that I could use my skills for more than just getting a job by helping other emerging business people and developing my own skills even further.

Share one business goal: Develop a viable women’s business network in my community where we train local mom’s in online business skills and entrepreneurship so they can build up their income while working from home and get out of the cycle of poverty that exists in this community for mothers who have younger children and are unable to stick to rigid traditional in-office work hours.

What would you say contributes to your success? I have an awesome network of business women. I also have a foundation of great mentors who have helped me throughout my life. Most importantly, I stand on God’s unchanging Word in the Holy Bible as the foundation for my life. He has never failed me, and never will.

What advice would you give an aspiring entrepreneur? Learn to understand yourself. Know yourself and be honest about that with yourself and others.

Own it – Embrace it. Do you – Be real. Find what works for you best, stick with that and keep moving forward with no apologies or regrets.

Tamika, you picked a good person to spotlight in your blog. Donna Johnson has a great idea of getting mothers in her community working from home. With small children or new mothers, this is a great opportunity for these mothers to help get their working from home jobs steady & earning a living. Donna’s faith is nothing to overlook either. I know that by her words she has the tenacity to make this work for both her and her clients.
