Tell us about yourself and your business: I am a mother of 2 boys under the age of 4 and dedicated wife. After having a career in Business Logistics for 10 years I decided to start a family. I had a difficult and uncomfortable pregnancy and had a hard time finding products to get me though those 9+ months. My background in supply chain and logistics made it easy to locate and source products.
What inspired you to start a business? Walking around seeing ailing women complain about their aching bodies. Before you have a baby you never realize how uncomfortable it truly can be. My husband encouraged me to develop my findings into something more. While I was on maternity leave for baby #2, BellyButtonBoutique.com was born.
Share one business goal: To have national exposure on a lifestyle television show.
What would you say contributes to your success? I found a niche that people normally do not focus on. People with maternity clothing stores spend a lot of money in inventory (different sizes and colors), I focus on products and clothing basics. It has allowed me to free up capital and utilize it in other ways.
What advice would you give an aspiring entrepreneur? Life will never slow down for you to start your business. You have to go for it now and just make your life fit your business.
