For those looking to start a home based business, the Network Marketing business model is the top choice for most women and moms because it offers simple startup options, no educational requirements and usually, a minimal investment.
There are many companies that offer independent representatives or consultants, the ability to earn a commission on products and services they sell. These direct sales companies such as; Mary Kay, Avon and Tupperware, offer women a way to be able to earn a part time or full time income from home by marketing their products directly to consumers.
Over this weekend, I’ve been really reflecting on what this holiday truly means and how it relates to us, entrepreneurs and small business owners. The same way our country declared independence on this day in 1776…we too, can claim our freedom as independent professionals!
Joining the inner circle of freedom seekers and dream chasers, and making the decision to become an entrepreneur seems natural to our biological makeup…its who we are. I believe, one chooses to pursue the path of entrepreneurship because we have a deeply rooted, inner mission to make a huge difference in the world, in a unique way.
When you chose the road less traveled, the path of entrepreneurship, you may find yourself being faced with many roadblocks and difficult situations that can literally stop you dead in your tracks.
Especially if you are pursuing your entrepreneurial dream full time, like me. You will have to work three times as hard as the average person and learn to be resilient in the face of adversity.
It doesn’t matter who you are or what your background is…
You are going to experience negativity in your daily business life, on top of whatever is going on in your personal life. This is one reason why everyone is not designed to be an entrepreneur. Being women, we often have a hard time putting our emotions and feelings in check and allow outside distractions to interfere with the operation of our business.
Do you sometimes wonder why some of the women in your networking circles or groups seem to be doing really well in their businesses while others don’t. Are you interested in learning what the women who are seeing success are doing to achieve it?
Listen to my short audio below as I share with you the distinctive difference between successful women entrepreneurs and those who aren’t…yet!
Be sure to share your opinion in the comments below…let me know your thoughts.
No matter how deep the desire is to be a successful woman entrepreneur, some of us may be far from that reality because of the unintentional self-sabotage we invite into our business each day.
If you have goals of being a successful woman in business but you are barely making any progress toward achieving those goals, it could very well be you are operating in a form of self-sabotage.
Lack of Focus
You may not realize it but you could possibly lack the focus needed to be an entrepreneur working for yourself. When you are not focused each day on getting the things done in your business that will earn you a profit, recognize you need to make a change.
Over this past weekend, I enjoyed some rest and relaxation, hung out with my kiddos and got caught up on some moving watching. As I thought about what genre I was in the mood for, I decided to go with a comedy and watched I Love You, Man.
If you’ve never seen it, it’s basically about a guy named Peter who gets engaged to his girlfriend and realizes he doesn’t have any close male friends to be the Best Man at his wedding. He decides to “find” a new friend…long story short, he meets a guy named Sydney who is a laid back, very charismatic kind of guy with whom he ends up bonding and forming some sort of “Bro-mance”.
Yes, you are your own boss. You don’t have to answer to anyone and it doesn’t really matter if you show up to work in your pajamas because most of your business is conducted online. Being an entrepreneur has taken away the required structured behaviors and protocol demanded at a regular job and has enabled you to finally, be yourself.
Just because you consider yourself a “laid back and chill, easy going, get-along-with-everyone-type-of-chic”, in your everyday life, does not necessarily mean that will resonate online in the business world.
Don’t get me wrong, being yourself and authentic plays a huge part in building your personal brand but there is a way to be able to incorporate your unique style and personality while still being professional.
In the article titled, Character Traits of Extraordinary Leaders, Chris Widener wrote: “When people make a decision to follow your leadership, they do primarily because of one or two things: your character or your skills.” I totally agree with Chris, because, I find that when my employees are willing to carry out my vision when they respect my character and skills. Moreover, they are more willing to follow my Leadership!
Chris described seven extraordinary character traits of an extraordinary leader and they are as follows:
