How to Outsource Your Social Media Marketing

One of the most common questions I get from busy entrepreneurs – who are not only trying to build a successful business but may be working a job, balancing baby, kids and a husband all at the same time – is how do I find someone to do my social media marketing for me?

Many will agree that there are just not enough hours in the days to get everything done and as an entrepreneur building what will hopefully be a thriving business – you will one day come to the realization that “I just can’t do this alone.”

So how do you outsource your social media marketing?

Email List Building, Don’t Make this Costly Mistake

Email list building is a great way to stay in touch and nurture relationships with new and existing business connections. It is a privilege that is not to be abused and should only be a way to offer information and promotional material, IF FIRST, it has been requested.

So, what does that mean?

If you obtained someone’s email address from:

  1. Their business card
  2. A networking event
  3. Their mailing list YOU subscribed to
  4. Their social network profile
  5. Any online/offline communication
You DO NOT have the right to add them to YOUR mailing list…PERIOD!

If this is a common practice for you, I urge you to stop now. Allow me to me explain why this is a very unethical way of building your email list.

Free Must Have Online Tools Every Entrepreneur Should Use

Determining how you will market your online business can be a challenge when your funds are limited or even, non-existent. It’s helpful when you have access to the necessary tools needed to run your business on a day-to-day basis and even better, when those tools are free!

When I first started my online business, I had no savings and no money to invest in marketing. I was however, determined to make my business work so I began to search for free alternatives. A few of the resources and tools I found are still tools that I use now in my business and allow me to keep more of my profit in my pocket.

Why You Must Work at Building Your Facebook Following

If you are serious about building your business online and creating buzz for your business using Facebook, you have to accept the fact that you are going to have to work at building your following. Understand that just because you create a Fan Page or Page for your business, does not mean people will automatically follow you.

When consulting with new business owners, I find the most common mistake being made is creating a Fan Page without a purpose. Realize that your Fan Page is another marketing tool for your business which first requires planning a strategy to implement.

Before you jump right in and start a Fan Page because “it’s what everybody else is doing”…Determine Your Purpose.

3 Reasons Why Twitter is Important for Business

By: Sylvia Browder

Regularly, I travel to several rural counties in southern Alabama providing business counseling and training to local business owners.  In discussing the importance of incorporating social media into their marketing plan, some clients are not sure if it is relevant for their businesses.  In fact, a few give me that ‘deer in the headlights’ look when I introduce Twitter as a viable way to increase their client base.  By educating them, I help them understand the benefits.

As I explain, Twitter is used by millions of people each day who share, connect, promote and brand their business image.  If you, like them are still not convinced, here are 3 reasons why Twitter is important for your business.

Getting Your Business in Order for Maximum Productivity

The beginning of a new year is always the time of year when small business owners decide, they are going to “get it together”. All of those newly envisioned ideas and business plans flutter the minds of rejuvenated entrepreneurs ready to experience a boost in business revenue.

With all the dreaming however, structured planning must accompany your vision in order to move that vision in to action.

Here are a few tips to get you started with getting your business in order.

Getting Your Business in Order

1. Write it Down – This should be a no-brainer but even though you have a goal and you know what you want to do, you still must write it down. Having your goals on paper, including deadlines and easily accessible for frequent viewing, will help you visualize what needs to be done and help you stay on track.

Using Google Alerts for Your Business

Google Alerts is a powerful and free tool that you can use to monitor not only keywords and phrases but your name and business as well.

It can also be beneficial to set alerts for your industry news and to receive relevant content to share with your community via your blog.

I use alerts to keep track of who is saying what about me and my company and receive these alerts daily delivered directly to my email.

With the power of the internet and social media, you have to stay in the know of what’s going on and google alerts can help you do that.
