Where you are right now is where you have chosen to be.

Take a moment to think about that. Depending on where you are, this may feel amazing, but it might not feel so great.

Your mindset is an incredibly important part of the business building game. Moreover, it is directly related to the impact that you’re going to have in this world.

There are five basic questions you must ask yourself when building a business or looking to take an existing business to the next level. These are all related to mindset.

1.) Are you afraid of “messing up”? In other words, are you waiting to take action because you don’t want to fail?

2.) Is building your business really overwhelming? Do you find yourself not knowing where to start sometimes… or maybe even a lot of the time?

3.) Do you compare yourself to others? This one’s really important. Do you find yourself comparing yourself to what’s coming into your inbox? Are you looking at what other people have in their ezines or what they have accomplished and basing your self-worth off of that?

4.) Do you believe (without hesitation) that you have the ability to make multiple six figures and beyond?

5.) Are you so certain in your sales conversion calls that you close at over 90%?

If you answered “yes” to #1, #2, or #3, or “no” to #4 or #5 (essentially negative responses implying a lack of confidence in your business), it is time to take a hard look at your belief system in regards to building your business – because today you decide where you will be in the very near future. It is up to you.

First, it is important to know that there is no competition. People often come up to me and say that they really want to do something but that there are so many other people already doing it, that they aren’t sure if it’s what they should do.

What people forget quite frequently is that there can only be one YOU! Do you know how many marketing and mindset coaches there are out there? There are hundreds, if not thousands, if not tens of thousands of them out there – but there is no one doing it like me. There is no one else doing it “Help More People” style. Likewise, no one can do what you do like you can.

Let go of the idea of competition. There is no competition. The only competition you will find is a manufactured competition that you have created.

Another issue people have related to mindset is that they wait for everything to be “just right” to launch a product or to even start their business at all. This kind of perfectionism holds people back from helping people, making money, and really making a difference in the world.

There’s a great Marianne Williamson quote that says, “Your playing small doesn’t serve the world.” It also doesn’t serve your family, your spouse, or your church, or your community, or your friends.

I often hear people saying “I would do this, but I have to take care of my 95 year old mother,” or “I would do this but I have three toddlers at home,” and many other excuses beginning with “I would do this but…”

But by playing small, not being in the right mindset, not asking for clients, not marketing yourself, or putting all the pieces together, you are being a terrible example for your children, community, family, friends, etc. When you are a leader and you step up and build a business that makes a difference in this world, you change everyone’s mindset, and indeed you change the world.

So many people want to change the world, but fail to realize that the only person they can directly change is themselves. You must start with your own mindset. Your sales conversions, your ability to make money, whether or not you are comparing yourself to others or not, and any uncertainty that you’re experiencing are all reflections of your belief in what is possible for you.

When I decided to get my “mind set” in the right direction – notice that I used two words, mindset is really about getting your mind set in the right way – everything started to come together for me. Treat your belief in yourself like a thermostat and not a thermometer. You set it where you want it to be.

When I realized and began implementing this, clients literally started finding me. My belief in myself was firm. People want to be around that. No one wants to surround themselves with uncertainty and insecurity.

Continually ask yourself, how are you showing up? People are attracted to authority – authority inspired!

Guest Post By: Treshad Washington (My Son) In regards to Take Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day!

Hi my name is Tre and today I stayed home with my mom for take your kids to work day. Today I learned how my mom builds her business on facebook and twitter by making friends and talking to them. Every day she checks her stats on her blog and on hootsuite to find out how she gets traffic. She runs a Facebook fan page and shares inspirational quotes, blog post,  and other information. She talks on the phone with people who want to learn how to start a business, and it’s called coaching.

Today I learned to blog and post on the fan page and I learned how to network on twitter and facebook. I helped my mom get friends on facebook and twitter so she could get more people on her website.  I learned about her social network for other ladies in business. I learned how other women start their own business selling stuff online.

Now that I know what my mom does everyday, I think its cool to be a marketing consultant and coach. I think it is a tough job to keep up with and keeping track of what you are doing. I think you need a lot of time on your hands and patience.

Today I did a Facebook fan page quote that I found all by myself and somebody liked it, that made me feel special=[). If it was me doing all this marketing and networking I couldn't do it because you have to do a lot of typing  and thinking and talking to people. My mom has to talk to people on the phone and help them and teach them about  how to do their business. That's something I couldn't do because its scary to me.

In conclusion, I decided to never do marketing again because it was very hard, way to much work, and to much writing. Plus she made me write this blog post...just kidding!

This morning I read a great post written by one of my Facebook Friends, Felisa Williams. She wrote an article accompanied by a video, regarding spamming on Facebook. As we all are aware, Facebook is a social network designed for connecting or reconnecting with friends and family and to also meet new people and build new relationships.

As Facebook continues to grow and lead highly in popularity, more and more entrepreneurs and network marketers have found this platform to be a great way to build their business. I can agree with them in this regard, I too have had great success in connecting and creating partnerships with some amazing women in business.

What ruins the experience for those of us who understand how to properly market our businesses on social platforms, are the individuals who think spamming their opportunities  into our personal Facebook space, is okay. Not only does spamming on Facebook violate the rules but it devalues your opportunity and can immensely ruin your reputation online.

My friend Felisa, shares a few good points on Facebook spamming and what it is. If you are unsure of your practices on Facebook or just curious to hear what she has to say, I invite you to read her blog post and watch her video on the topic.

Feel free to leave her a comment and share your opinion!

If you’ve been around the internet marketing world for any amount of time chances are you have heard how valuable it is to build a contact list. So many people focus on getting to the top of search engines when they could be spending that time working on building their list which is actually more beneficial then being at the top of the search engine. Google can drop you at the blink of an eye but a list can “google proof” your income.

Building a list can be challenging but with these three tips you will be on your way to building an incredible list.

1. Build a relationship first. Your main objective should not be money but building a relationship with your list subscribers. Don’t send email after email that just offers your products or services. Yes, putting your product or services in front of your subscribers eyes is key to making money, however, they more than likely signed up for your list expecting to receive some informative information, not just sales pitch after sales pitch. You will surely find if you continue to do that, you’ll have unsubscriber after unsubscriber. So focus on relationship building first and the monetary aspect later.

2. Be consistent. Consistency is key! Have you ever signed up for a list only to end up forgetting you ever signed up for it because the emails were so far and few in between? Not only does it cause list subscribers to forget they signed up but it causes the potential for loss of income. Then, if you decide to start the list back up later, it will be tougher to get those subscribers to open those emails. So when you start your list make sure you are consistent.

3. Use a good auto responder company. Each company will have different pros and cons you’ll need to evaluate and decide what will be the best for you and your needs. An auto responder is where you will keep your emails, find your opt-in code, keep an eye on tracking how many subscribers are actually opening your emails, etc. So it’s imperative that you have a reliable auto responder company, such as Mad Mimi.

These are just three tips of 101 that you will find in 101 Smart and Easy Mailing List Strategies guide. If you want to start a mailing list or already have one, pick up your copy of Moms Talk Biz Guide to List Building, 101 Smart and Easy Mailing List Strategies for easy to follow tips that will help you build a strong business foundation – your list!

Blogging is an easy and creative way to help you generate exposure for your business. Not only is it a useful marketing tool to drive traffic to your website but it also provides a way for you to build a community of people to connect with. You can use a blog to share your business expertise and knowledge, keep customers updated on new products or services, and even communicate with your readers and request feedback.

How do you use a blog to generate exposure?

Think of it as being an informational portal to your business. You can create various pages on your blog including descriptions of products, services you offer, the latest news in your industry or current specials and promotions.

Providing a subscription option by email or RSS feed is a great way for readers to stay up-to-date with what’s going on. Having an RSS feed will also help you generate exposure because of the distribution throughout the many RSS directories.

You’ll also want to be sure you keep your blog fresh by writing new content regularly. Share links to your latest posts on your social network sites such as, Facebook and Twitter to encourage new readers.

Another great way to generate exposure is to interact with your readers. Ask questions and always respond to comments. Including guest posts and interviews also helps with audience participation and will increase your visibility in the blogosphere.

One of the most attractive and easiest ways for people to make money online is with Affiliate Marketing. The reason for its tremendous popularity is simple, you’re able to earn a commission by promoting the products and services of other people. Another great reason affiliate marketing is so appealing is that there is no start up costs and you can begin to earn money immediately.

To be successful with Affiliate Marketing you must first understand that it is not a way to get rich quick. Posting a link in your blog or adding banners to your website simply just won’t do. It takes time to build your affiliate business and just like any business, you must work at it daily.

In order to earn a substantial amount of income, you will need to first find a program that offers a product or service that has a need. You have to find your niche and be able to represent the product with honesty and integrity. There is a great deal of competition in this industry so you have to learn to brand yourself to stand out from the rest. What makes you different than the next person? What personalized service do you offer that they don’t? Give your potential buyers a reason to want to do business with you.

Next, you will have to be willing to learn about the service or product you choose to promote as well as be trained in the best way to market it. If you are new to affiliate marketing or not making the amount of money you hoped for, you should consider investing in a structured training program that will get you results. These programs offer valuable training materials such as; webinars, ebooks, tutorials and web tools all designed to help you succeed.

Time is also an important investment in affiliate marketing. Again, you have to build your brand and make a name for yourself in the internet world. Often times new affiliate marketers give up before they give themselves a chance to succeed. To maintain a profitable affiliate marketing business, you must be patient and disciplined to be consistent in your marketing efforts.

Social Networking is no longer only used for the purpose of connecting with your old college friends or the long distance relatives you very rarely see. In fact, social networking has become a very beneficial way to build your business presence online.

Popular social network sites like Myspace, Facebook, LinkedIn and even Twitter have allowed small business owners from all over the globe to not only reach prospective customers but create opportunities for the purpose of establishing business networking relationships within their industry.

Successful network marketers utilize these tools on a daily basis because they understand the value and the direct connection between building relationships and building a business.

A large part of how I establish myself online has been greatly attributed to my daily use of social networking. Here are a few of my experiences and how they can help you build your business online too.

Partnerships & Collaborations – Sharing blog posts, articles and links providing informative information on your social networking sites will help you attract the people who are interested in what you have to say and peak the interests of those who want to know what you sell. If your audience can see your focus is on helping and sharing instead of selling, soon you will start to receive requests for collaborations and presented with interesting business opportunities.

Referrals – When you find helpful resources online, do you keep it to yourself or do you freely pass it along to the people you network with on a regular basis? To create a trusting relationship within your social networks, be a giver and not the type who is always “giving” links to your own products or services. People will respect your willingness to promote growth and will tell others about you.

Real Relationships – Creating your personal profile across your various social network sites should all be a consistent representation of who you are as an individual. Sharing your interests will help people get to know you and relate to you as a “real” live person. Give your audience the chance to connect with you, get to know you and decide if you are someone they would like to develop a relationship with. When you are genuine, you will find that you open doors that may not have been available to you otherwise.

I love meeting new people, have we connected yet?
