By Tyjuana Wilson, on May 7th, 2012% I’ve only been freelancing, officially, since last year. For years I have been known as the go-to gal for writing, from bosses who’d let me edit a letter or design a newsletter — in which I could only work on “when I’m not working”, to family members who needed, shall we say, assistance with their college papers.
I had always wanted to be a writer, but always needed a “job”, so I focused on working. It was safe and secure. Are you laughing, too?

As women entrepreneurs with high hopes and vision, we often start off with with an unstoppable drive and determination to make our new business work.
Many of us stay up for hours, day after day doing all we think we should do to get the business up and running and start bringing in money.
We spend time finding the best tools and services and get it in our heads that if we just work hard at getting all this online business stuff setup right, we can finally quit the day job or at last, bring home our kids who have grown accustomed to daycare.
Within us lies this deep desire to pursue our passion and live our dream!
By CEOMamma, on October 10th, 2011% Do you ever wonder why your marketing is missing the mark? More than likely, it’s because your marketing message is not speaking the volumes it should be to connect with your target audience.
Let’s start from the beginning.
One common misconception is that your marketing message is the mission and purpose of your company. Even though the two are closely connected, your mission is not your message.
First and foremost, your message has to be compelling. It should not only be able to immediately attract the attention of your ideal client, but speak into their soul. Your message has to assure them that YOU can solve their biggest problem.

“Capture the market with a plan,” says one honcho, straddling the fence on marketing over the internet with his own key to making a fortune online. You listen intently, knowing that in the plan he’s telling about is the secret key that feels so illusive in your own online business. His words fall flat as he repeats the same things you already knew.
You watch intently as he omits an important step in the process, picking it up in your notes, but realizing the fall. You recognize the tidbit that is missing. You see it. The next ebook he’ll promote gives that single bit of information stuck between the pages in words that scale new heights of the skyscraper he’s developing for his own business.
By CEOMamma, on September 12th, 2011% Email list building is a great way to stay in touch and nurture relationships with new and existing business connections. It is a privilege that is not to be abused and should only be a way to offer information and promotional material, IF FIRST, it has been requested.
So, what does that mean?
If you obtained someone’s email address from:
- Their business card
- A networking event
- Their mailing list YOU subscribed to
- Their social network profile
- Any online/offline communication
You DO NOT have the right to add them to YOUR mailing list…PERIOD!
If this is a common practice for you, I urge you to stop now. Allow me to me explain why this is a very unethical way of building your email list.
By CEOMamma, on September 9th, 2011% If you are serious about building your online business quickly, the very first thing you need to do is identify your Niche Market and really get to know who they are.
Unfortunately, I had to learn this the hard way because like many new business owners, I was mislead into believing the entire World Wide Web was like “open season” and had no limitations to how freely I could market my business. Of course, this is true…to a certain degree.
YES, you are free to establish your business online however you want, NO, there aren’t any restrictions in the manner in which you choose to market yourself and by no means do you have to target any particular niche market at all.
By Sylvia Browder, on September 7th, 2011% Have you ever launched a marketing campaign yet it didn’t yield the results you envisioned? Did you take the time to thoroughly research your campaign idea before executing it? Important elements to a sound campaign encompass identifying your product or service and your consumers.
The other day, I met with a client to discuss her upcoming marketing campaign. When I asked her to share her overall goals for this initiative, she looked at me bewildered and said, “I just want more sales.”
Well, that’s fine and dandy, as we all want more sales, but to have a successful campaign, you must consider what your overall objectives are. Every successful marketing campaign begins with a plan. So, in the planning process, these 4 tools are essential:
By CEOMamma, on August 17th, 2011% YES, I AM GOING THERE!
WHY? Because this is an issue I’m seeing entirely to much and it is time for the women who are experiencing lack in their business to take a look at what could be the problem and take the steps to correct it.
What gives me the right? Well, because I’ve been there. Early on in my online entrepreneurial journey, I was a self proclaimed “Women Entrepreneur” for a long time, not making any money.
I thought entering the World Wide Web would bring me almost instant success (I said almost, because I knew I wasn’t going to become rich over night…but sure it was going to be soon after)

So often, I speak with entrepreneurs who are on Facebook or want to be for the purpose of establishing their business brand and presence, but they have no clue of what to do.
