Oftentimes, it’s the smallest accomplishments in life that bring us the greatest feeling of success witnessing baby’s first words, celebrating a wedding anniversary, or accepting the keys to the doors of your new home… Success in its simplest form is always reason to celebrate. However, your journey to success in the competitive world of business won’t be as easy as photographing baby’s first steps.
The journey to success can be laborious and long. A continuous stretch of a never-ending road filled with setbacks, mishaps and sheer human frustrations. Just when we have seemingly done all of the right things, some happenstance occurs that upsets the applecart and topples our confidence, making our journey more tedious, which, in turn, cause us to start second guessing ourselves.
These unsettling occurrences can cause a lapse in judgment and set up a pattern of indecisiveness. Entrepreneurs must seek clarity in the midst of chaos and find a way back to their passion and purpose. We must trust that the original plan for starting our business remains the focus of intent. In keeping with an established action plan and building from a platform of consumer interest, there will be less room for error and a greater advantage for making sound decisions.
Success cannot be rushed. It doesn’t adhere to the “get rich quick” scheme of things. It is a process that I refer to in my Book “A Life Toward Authenticity- My Authenticity Woman Story” as a succession of small steps, cumulating into formidable ladders that lead to undeniable bridges of opportunity.
“The first secret to success is self-trust.” Ralph Waldo Emerson.
What is it that you’re passionate about and need to share with others? Allow yourself to visualize how your area of expertise will make a difference in another person’s life. In order to formulate a success plan for our business, we must start with a solid foundation, built on belief and trust in our capabilities.
Longevity in business is contingent upon several factors, including giving the clients what they want; keeping a positive mindset when roadblocks occur and always be willing to go the extra mile. The road to success starts with a dream. You have to visualize a favorable ending. Keep the faith and don’t allow disappointments to derail all you’ve accomplished, thus far on your journey… It’s your passion, your purpose- why not see it to fruition?
By continuing the work you’ve set out to do, eventually success will follow. Reportedly, 80% of all new businesses fail in the first five years. Don’t be deterred. You are not trying to become a member of that club. Stay the course and witness your tree of life bear fruit and multiply.
